Telegram Settings
The plugin provides the following configurable features to enhance integration between Jira Service Management (JSM) and Telegram:
1. Selective Processing of Incoming Telegram Messages
Administrators can define which types of Telegram messages should be relayed to Jira issues. Supported message types include:
- Photo
- Video
- File
- Sticker
- Contact
- Location
- Voice Message
- Video Message
Only selected types will be processed; others will be ignored.
2. Forward Attachments from JSM to Telegram
When enabled, files attached to public comments in JSM will be forwarded to the user's Telegram chat via the Telegram Bot API.
Important considerations:
- Only non-sensitive attachments are eligible for transmission
- Ensure compliance with your organization's data sharing policies
- Telegram API limits apply: maximum file size for outgoing files is 50 MB
- Certain formats may be restricted by Telegram
3. Include Explanatory Notes in Telegram User Messages
When enabled, system-generated explanatory notes will be appended to user messages sent from Telegram to JSM.
These notes provide context, such as:
- "User added a comment"
- "User uploaded a photo"
This helps agents understand the nature and origin of incoming communication.
4. Send Notification to Telegram User Upon Request Creation
When enabled, users will receive an automatic Telegram notification after a request is created in JSM.
Features:
- The message includes the request key (e.g., "Your request has been registered as ticket SD-1")
- Language is determined automatically based on the user's Telegram settings
- Refer to the language support documentation for a list of supported languages
All these settings can be configured by administrators in the plugin configuration panel.
